Center for Contemporary Art Kitakyushu
Cao Fei (born in Guangzhou, China, 1978) lives and works in Beijing. She has participated in many exhibitions not only in Asia such as China, Korea and Japan, but also Europe, and the work is also presented at Chinese Pavilion of 52nd Venice Biennale. She works with various mediums including video, photograph and performance, and employs sometimes sub-cultural elements which can be seen especially at young generation, such as Hip Hop and “Cosplay.” Sometimes unfolded with humor, the works seriously capture the contemporary societies and the people that have changed by the minute.
