Yona Friedman

Yona Friedman has pursued how future urban areas and residences should develop, based on a maximum adaptability and flexibility. Friedman’s idea on this issue could be seen in his manifest published 1950s, such as ‘L’Architecture Mobile’ and ‘Ville Spatiale.’ Friedman insists that dwelling in various social conditions should be realized by very basic human movement, technique and idea, in relation to art, sociology, eocomics and science. Friedman’s concept has exerted huge influence on not only architecture, such as ‘Metabolism’ movement happened in Japan in 60s, but also art and the concept until today.
