Center for Contemporary Art Kitakyushu
After studying classical music and composition, Zbigniew Karkowski has worked in the areas of written contemporary music, industrial music, pop music and experimental. Born in Krakow, and having lived in many countries such as Goteborg, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Tokyo, he believes that geographical and social exile is a necessity for true creation. He is not interested in traditional definition of music, and considers that all theory and systems of music as a cultural concept have to be destroyed. Sources of his sound are various, and many of them are built by field recording.
