Katharina Sieverding(born 1944) works in Dusseldorf and Berlin. Her artistic work deals with documentary photography, screen, site specific film, video, slide, beamer, projection, light display and print works involving analogous and digital mixing processes.
Since 1967, Sieverding has persistently concentrated on the conception and construction of large-scale imagery using the film and camera apparatus. Her intellectual and artistic approach is inspired and analogized by such as the specific material/immaterial quality and quantity of light, exposure processes of these images and media technologies.
She explores the complex political potential in conceptual construction and representation techniques, engaging viewers in the interaction of image production and viewing construction.
