Toshiki Oyama

With a career in traditional performing arts spanning nearly 30 years, Toshiki Oyama began practicing Yaeyama dance in 1997 at the academy run by his parents. In 2001, he started learning the sanshin (a traditional three-stringed lute) and studied traditional folk music, making his live performance debut in 2010. In 2012, at the age of 20, he moved to Tokyo, where he performed widely across various venues, including radio shows, hotels, and live music taverns. In 2014, he won the Annual Grand Prix at a new musician showcase competition, and has continued to build an impressive stage career. Currently based in Okinawa, he tours nationwide. He is highly acclaimed for his captivating stage presence, drawing audiences in with his unique, original sanshin styles and sound.
